WOW

August 30, 2010 - 3:17 pm 2 Comments

Oh my gosh! I am amazed how many sales we got just during the first couple of days since my stamps are ready to be shipped!! WOW!! Thank you so much for your support!! We also got wholesale requests!! Can you imagine??? That is really the cherry on top!! :D heeheeee

Right now I am working on a catalog for the stamps :) I know, we just have four simple sets, but hey! It is fun and inspirational and I think the time worth :) Once I’m done I will show it to you. Here a little sneaky peaky ;)

I found this layout I did a couple of weeks ago. I used a lot of my “Tabs” stamps on this one. They work great as Journal spots or as simple and unique embellishments ;) (hint hint – If you are interested in those stamps you should really hurry up – there are just 2 remaining!!)

More Custom-Made Layouts

August 5, 2010 - 2:15 pm 2 Comments

A LOT is going on behind the scene of swissgirlDesigns right now! I am creating layout after layout for a big surprise! Also this surprise has to be created and so I am busy all the time :)

Yesterday I finished that one custom made album I was showing you just a few days ago. Now it’s done, how sad… But there are so many more projects waiting for me, so I can’t really complain about that ;)

Once again, you will see my new stamps all over the layouts ;) I just love them soooo much!!!

As a last page of an album I like to create a “Pocket-Layout” where I can put in ephemeras and journalilng. Here I created the pocket all myself. I think it looks pretty awesome ;)

New Layouts

August 3, 2010 - 3:18 pm 3 Comments

Hi there! I have been so uninspired for the last couple of days and when I wanted to make a layout it would just not flow. I hate that. It was horrible. But then, one sunny morning I was inspired again. I printed out a couple of pictures and sat down with them and tataaaaa, I made a new record! Four (4) Layouts in just one (1) single day!

So anyways, I wanted to show three of them to you. There are two things that are very special about them.

  1. They are for a customer (thank you Meg for this awesome opportunity!)
  2. You see the FIRST SNEEK PEAKS OF MY CLEAR STAMPS on the layouts!!!!!

I hope you like it… :)

a very simple yet elegant layout about the bride… Here you see the stamp “what a great Day” on the lower right corner of the pictures.

This layout is the cover for the whole album. Here you see the owls, the speech bubble and the stamp “the beginning of something New”

a close-up of the owls…. love them!!

On this layout I wanted to give the bride and groom an opportunity to write down some of their own thoughts about their wedding. Here you see the “Notes to last forever” stamp.

What do you think about the stamps?? Do you like them?? I hope so :D I am having so much fun to mix and match the four sets with each other! Hope you will so too :)

“Summer” Tutorial

August 2, 2010 - 10:09 am 1 Comment

I have been bombarded with the one question: How did you do the “Summer” title??? Well to make it easy on me I would like to show you how I did that here in public ;)

  1. Take a piece of transparency.
  2. Create your title on the transparency with alpha stickers.
  3. Take a Versamark ink and go over the title and transparency. Remember, you want to create an embossed background and clear letters, means that you need to use lots of the ink!
  4. Put embossing powder on top and heat emboss. Be very careful, the transparency might shrink!
  5. Remove the stickers and you are good to go!

Easy, isn’t it?? :)   Here again the Layout and the details of the title…

—————————

Before this post already ends I wanted to let you know that I have received the samples of my new stamp collections!!! I would looooove to show you the designs already, but I think it is better if I wait with that a little ;) But be prepared for four (4) brand new collections that go together very very well!! :) yay!! More details are following :)

“Lovely Lahaina” and More

July 23, 2010 - 8:59 pm 1 Comment

Today I went shopping! And not at Michaels, I went to JoAnn’s!! Yep, I am obsessed with PRETTY FABRICS!!! :D Here a sneak peak on what I got….. I hope to show you better sooner than later what for I got these cuties ;)

A while ago I made these two layouts that I would like to show you know. The first one is a layout about our honeymoon back in May. We stayed in Lahaina on Maui the second week. It was lovely (that is how I’ve chosen this title… ;) heee ) It is a pretty easy design but I am telling you, it just wouldn’t flow…. I have to appologize, somehow the gray doesn’t want to show right….

The second one is about a picture I took an even longer time ago in the car of the two of us. See, we already got the title ;) Pretty easy, huh!? I used my Bambi Clear Stamps at it’s best. Great stuff, really! I also found this American flag that I made about 5 years ago (or even longer…). It just fitted perfectly into this design :)

Summer Video :D

July 14, 2010 - 4:59 pm 2 Comments

Yesterday I created this layout about my favorite summer “food” (dessert…..?) heheee  Homemade sherbet…… Yummy… :D

Recipe: Put frozen or fresh berries with some yogurt, sugar, orange juice and vanilla into a cup and blend it. Then put it into the freezer for about 4 hours. READY!!! :D

Tips and Tricks for colorful layouts: Sometimes bright colors overtake the important picture, especially if you have more than just one huge photo. To go against that without changing the patterned paper try to use some black or white acrylic paint underneath the picture(s). It will make your pictures pop and give the whole layout an artsy look!
