ChitChat and Layout

October 26, 2009 - 6:45 pm No Comments

Yesterday I booked my flight to California on December 17! (well, actually Adrian paid for it, because I didn’t have enough money on my MasterCard..) So we calculated the countdown in school (becuase I told everybody…) and it seems, that I will see my Baby in less than 52 days!!! YAY!! I can’t wait to be with him again!!! It’s not a very long time we spent away from each other compared to past years, but still, almost three months is a looooong time…. And I can’t wait to do some wedding planning TOGETHER! I am very excited, what he thinks of my many ideas and plans…. :)   Can you see that I am totally happy about that??? ;)

Okay, here comes another layout that I recently made. I really love the combination of a “girly” paper and the black acrylic paint frame around the edges. I think, it is not my most creative layout I ever did, but I kind of like the fun colors and the serious picture of my SweetHeart ;)   By the way, if you don’t have a lot of time for your layout, this is a very easy and quick way to put things together!!

Right now I have so much energy and ideas for creating layouts. I don’t know why.. But it is so nice to sit down and have fun with nice colorful scrapbooking items – almost every day! :)

Oh yes, if you are wondering, if I won something of the Sketchy Thursday Challenge… No, I didn’t… Once again ;)   I think I won two challenges, but I am a jinx if it comes to ramdomly selected winners…. LOL

I hope, you enjoyed the feeling of romance, recreation and silence. It was so beautiful to be there at that very moment and I am more happy that my pictures reflect all those feelings.

(By the way, the colors aren’t faked ;) )

Have a good day!!

Layout “Bodie”

October 15, 2009 - 9:34 pm 1 Comment

Here is a new layout, once again about California. This photograph is taken in Bodie, a Ghost Town between Yosemite NP and South Lake Tahoe, near to Mono Lake. If you are in this area, you really have to see this! First of all, if you are a Photographer ;)   It is 10 $ I think and it is worth it.

Maybe you already know, that I usually don’t like red at all. But I don’t know what is happening with me, I started to use that color more often in my latest layouts… Might be the Canadian air :D

Now I have another date to count down: I am visiting Adrian this winter in California!!! I can’t wait!! I haven’t booked my ticket yet, but it looks like that I will stay there for about 4 weeks!! I really can’t wait to see him again! :D

Okay, if I don’t write again: Have a nice weekend and stay safe, all of you ;)

Canada – Happy Thanksgiving!

October 9, 2009 - 3:32 pm No Comments

I am just waiting for my friend Mark, that will pick me up at my homestay place to join his family for Thanksgiving and I was thinking, if I should post something or not. I decided to write a little bit ;)

Okay, first of all: It is snowing right now! And the very interesting thing is, there are still people that walk around in Crocks, with no socks! Others are wearing shortsleeved shirts and pants, while I just got out my snowboard jacket… I actually feel very stylish in this City. It looks like nobody really cares about what they are wearing. I don’t have a style, I just find a pair of jeans, a t-shirt and a pullover – that’s it. But now I feel so beautiful. Why? A lot of the population here is wearing stuff that you would never ever see in Europe! Like a mustard-yellow XXL jacket over red pants and very old and dirty shoes. Or a two colored Jacket – green and brown/red – with a skirt, old boots and a backpack… Funny ;)

To all of you, at least to all of my readers from Canada: I wish you a very very nice Thanksgiving Weekend with your friends and relatives!!

xoxoxo, Rachel

Layout “Chinese Food”

October 8, 2009 - 4:21 pm 1 Comment

Hi there! Since the last time I posted, I was a little depressed – that’s the reason, why I didn’t share stuff with you. But I think, it is getting better now. I guess, something with this City is wrong. I mean, I really can feel the darkness, even if the sun shines. But Jesus is with me and I don’t have to fear anything :)

I wanted to show you another layout that I made some time ago. Adrian took me out for dinner as my birthday present. We went to a Chinese Restaurant…… :)   And since he acts so funny, I was able to get a snapshot when he was paying ;)

The dragon was on the chopstick wrapping. I cut it out and I think it makes a very nice embellishment on that layout!

This layout is very very easy and a quick solution, if you don’t have time to do something crazy. I really like to make a thin frame with a black marker to hold the photos and embellishments together.

3.5 years anniversary

October 4, 2009 - 3:26 pm 2 Comments

Wow! Today is Adrian and my anniversary! We are 3.5 years together now! Isn’t that crazy!? I actually think so ;)

I was thinking, what I should do for this special day. So I decided to tell you some stories of our time together.

Once upon a time, there was a teenage girl. She was just turning 15 and celebrating her birthday with her relatives. She was very excited about it. Not about her birthday, no, there was a very handsome young man that would come to the party too… Since she blushed all the time, she was very shy. The young man arrived with the rest of her relatives and sat himself right across her own place. Her face was flushed again.. What a pitty.. Then this man asked her something, not something special, just: “So, how old are you now, 16 or 15?” The poor girl was getting very very red in her face and murmured: “I am 15 now.”

Later, on June 4, there was another small party with all the relatives of the girls family. Everybody was enjoying the time together. The cousins were playing badmington together and also the young handsome man was there… One of the smaller cousins of the girl had an American Football. The girl has never seen something like that before and had no idea, how to throw it. So she tried and oh my gosh, the football landed next to the young man! Blush! So he picked up the ball and throwed it back to the girl and they started to play. Both, the young handsome man and the girl enjoyed it a lot.

After the man was back in California again, the girl was very very sad. She missed him. His jokes, his blue eyes… But they started to e-mail each other. They got to know each other and they couldn’t wait for the next e-mail that would be in the inbox.

In April 2006 one of the girls cousins was talking to her: “So… I heard, you and Adrian are a couple now!?” The poor girl flushed once again and told him: “Eemm.. I don’t know…?” So she couldn’t let them think, she would be his girlfriend and so he asked the young man, what he thinks they are. He didn’t write her for about two days and then she got an e-mail. He wrote her, that he was thinking a long time and he made a desicion: He wanted her as his girlfriend!

Yeah, I think you know who the blushing girl and the hansome young man is ;)   And now, 3.5 years later, we are standing here, still together, and planning our own wedding! :)

Have a nice sunday and a good start into the next week!!

Lower Fort Garry

October 3, 2009 - 6:57 pm 2 Comments

Hi! On Friday I was at Lower Fort Garry with my school. Since I am used to see old buildings (because I am Swiss), it wasn’t that much interesting to me. And it was freeeeeezing!! OMG! I don’t know, it was about 5°C or so, but still, just too cold for light Converse shoes…

Anyway. I took some pictures that I would like to show you!
